RAIN ON MY PARADE

Definitely, the rainy season is upon us and not in a fashion we are used to.
One would have thought that the torrential down pour in Lagos in the last few weeks would stop love birds tying the knot or high school graduants attending their prom and fashionistas stepping out in their best;  But no, quite the contrary.  The day is almost incomplete without some early morning showers of blessing.  It puts a new spin on the saying "dont rain on my parade".  Being fashionable late is undeniable on the rise.

There has been a wedding or event every weekend since the 2nd weekend  in february this year and Embellish me has been embellishing Brides, Bridesmaids, their pals and fashionistas all over town. Glory be to God.  We are particularly looking forward to G's wedding in London in a couple of weeks with her 10 maidens in a 1930's inspired piece in teal and fuschia with black veiling.  Our first international debut.  Pictures will be posted as soon as I get them.

May and June have been very busy months indeed.  July and August are looking extremely promising.  Keep your orders coming in and you are guaranteed to be EMBELLISHED!!!!

Here's a sneak peek into some of the goings-on in the last few months.

A TOUCH OF SPARKLE TO EVERYTHING...

In todays fashion, there are so many fusions. From 50's vintage styles mixed with the futuristic chic look to mixing contracting colours.  But one trend that seems to have come to stay is EMBELLISHMENTS.

Every fashion forward woman and some metrosexual men  want to have their outfit adorned with pearls, stones, diamante, crystals, gemstones, sequins, beads, buttons and anything that can add that touch of sparkle bling and glam to their outift.

Whether you are looking to revamp an old LBD or ankara (african fabric) outfit, or interested in an embellished tunic, kaftan or boubou with a personal touch or adding some bling to a jacket, blazer or back pockets of your jeans... Whatever the case may be, adding an embellised patch, motif or neckline is guaranteed to upgrade your style. Ofcourse, Bags and shoes are not left out.

Looking at necklines, motifs and patches on their own do not necessarily give a visual idea of their potential.  Its always best to place the motif on a piece of fabric or the actual outfit you want to embellish.

Below are some neckline motifs...

Now look at the motifs on the fabrics and i am sure you would appreciate the trasnformation.

Here are just a few pictures to inspire you and if you need any help...Embellish me is always here.  All the embellishments featured are available and there are many more. If interested in purchasing any, please send me an email - embellishme.ng@gmail.com

So till the next time....

Stay Fabulous...
