A hen night is the female version of a stag night or
bachelor party, where the bride to honoured and celebrated by her female friends and
family just before she's gracefully united with her husband. It is the most interesting and prestigious
party a bride has before her wedding.
The Hen Night or bachelorette party was originally popular in
the UK, Ireland, USA, Australia and New Zealand but now is a world wide spread
occurrence where the bridesmaids and female family member and friends host the
bride and bond before she gets married.
Usually, the bride is not involved in the planning but these days,
anything goes.
Having a hen night party is surely not the only way to spend quality time with bride before the wedding day.
There are so many activities that can be done together as a group.
- Spa treatment day
- Go- carting
- Burlesque or belly dancing classes
- Wine tasting and dinner
- Professional make-up session with a professional photographer to take memorable pictures
- Paint balling.
- Cake baking and decorating classes
- Short city breaks
...and so much more but having a themed party and dancing till
the sun comes up is always the number choice amongst ladies especially if the
bride has a lot of single girlfriends.
My best friend is getting married and we, her bridesmaids
and friends had a surprise themed Hen party, where we dressed up as 1930’s show
girls. It was a night never to be forgotten and that is just round 1. Abuja, here we come.
Heres a little sneak-a-peek into our Saturday shenanigans.
