EMBELLISH ME AT THE ELITE MODEL LOOK 2011

EMBELLISH ME AT THE ELITE MODEL LOOK 2011

The Elite model look is the largest and most glamorous model search competition in the world.

Beautiful young ladies are scouted for professional modelling careers.  It has been very successful over the years but this year's edition was particularly exciting for EMBELLISH ME.

EMBELLISH ME head pieces were used on the models during the fashion show and it was indeed a delight to see how perfectly the pieces matched the various styles adding extra glam to their appearances. Our head pieces were teamed with outfits of fashion big names in Nigeria.

"CARRY ON FASHION" - Trends for This Season

In Europe and the west, summer is at its tail end. Temperatures are still quite high in some parts of the Americas but generally winding down in Europe creeping into the season of autumn.
I am a four seasons fashion believer and follower for sure, it’s just a shame I am predominately based in the tropics.  Nevertheless, I still keep close tabs with the seasonal fashion trends without being a fashion slave of course but an avid participant.

This season, there are a lot of CARRY ONs from the summer and some fabulous additions for vanity sake.  Here are just a few below

1.  Prints, Patterns and Polka Dots

2.  Jewel Tones

3.  Chokers

4.  Go Nude

5.  One of the boys

6.  Block itc

PRINTS, PATTERNS AND POLKA

Patterns were really big in the summer from the warm mix of colours on ankara - African fabric to the rich and delicate floral designs and prints.  Polka dots are back this season in a big way and Stella McCartney’s autumn 2011 collection is totally polka inspired.  Other patterns like plaid, tartan and hound tooth are also very fashionably palatable this season.  Try to avoid dull colours and mixing clashing patterns.  Having a block colour as a base is also a very good idea.

JEWEL TONES

Emerald, my best colour was coincidentally and undeniably the colour for summer.  Now emerald has regrouped with family members to take over the autumn - winter season.
Jewel tones like amethyst, ruby, garnet, sapphire and citrine will you give you that opulent and sophisticated look and upgrade you from nice to uber fabulous.

CHOKERS

Yes, Chokers are back in after a very long leave of absence from the fashion sense.  This season, fashion designers’ palates have shifted slightly from cascading pearls, beads and medallions to chokers.  From feathers to bejewelled pieces, chokers are a necessity for the fashion conscious this season.  Choose from the array of bejewelled chokers in different colours and sizes from EMBELLISH ME today.

GO NUDE

Go nude and not naked.  Leave a little to be desired.  Cream, sheer pink and taupe colours are ever so sexy and feminine.  Adding some Chantilly or English lace to the hem line, overlapping the main outfit fabric or as the sleeves is a summer carry on trend into autumn.
Peak-a-boo lace around your cleave or lace higher up the hemline showing off soft silhouettes of your legs is a definite yes to the 5th date with a new guy in your life..... That should keep him around for longer.... if u know what I mean *wink wink*

ONE OF THE BOYS

Despite we are borrowing from the boys, this fashion trend is playful and has an unusual sex appeal.  A white or pin-stripe shirt tucked into tailored tapered trousers and a cheeky pair of suspenders is guaranteed to turn heads at the office. Waist coats, Cummerbunds and bow-ties are also hot this season.  Wear an ankara cummerbund and bow tie with a white shirt and black short on your next night out and dazzle all onlookers.  I am particularly excited about this trend.  LOVE IT.

BLOCK IT

Bold colours are totally in this season from the 1960's shift dresses to bold hued jeans of the early 90s.  Lime, orange, fuschia, yellow, you name it and the great thing about colour blocking is you can mix and match without the fear of clashing.  Its fun and exciting. I love it.  If in doubt, use a neutral colour to balance the match. Gold, tan and black are particularly helpful or maintain the same colour from top to toe.

So many other fantastic trends this autumn but for digestion purposes, we would leave it here for now.

I would love to know what you think.  Let’s share other hot trends and pictures to welcome in the Autumn season.
