My 3 New Year Fashion Resolutions
MY NEW YEAR FASHION RESOLUTION
I know everyone has at least one new year resolution for 2011 and is making concerted effort to fulfilling them week by week. Be it going to the gym 3 times a week, trying a new fad diet or reading more. Whatever they may be, have you considered any fashion resolutions?
These are my 3 fashion resolutions.
1. Wear Heels
2. Wear colours - Match constracting colours
3. Accessorise, Accessorise, Accessorise
1. Wear Heels
Wearing heels makes a woman look stylish, elegant and a taller appearance. It impacts her confident, self esteem, disposition and accolades the beauty of her body by giving a slimmer look.
Heels have been gracing women from the vintage good old days to the now modern and futuristic fashion and going no wear.
Heels have taken a more creative and dynamic turn in recent days with killers heels and a quirky twist to it. Some of these shoes may pose a challenge to some women and here are tips to help walk elegantly in high heels.
- Adopt a catwalk strut when in high heels to find a balance in your centre of gravity.
- Wear heels you feel comfortable in. Not everyone can walk elegantly in Alexander Mcqueen shoes
- Something i find that works for me with high heel pointy toe shoes is going a 1/2 size up. It totally removes the pinch on the little toe.
Note: Women in heels command respect and are more desirable.
2. Wear colours - match contrasting colours
Lose the black outfit for a change and go for coloured ones. There are so many fabrics with elaborate colours and prints these days and they look absolutely fabulous like the Holland wax and african fabric. Celebrities like Beyonce, Alicia keyes and Gwen Stefani just to mention a few have embraced these colours and patterns as they can be made into absolutely any style.
Embellish your old LBDs with bejeweled neck lines or sequined motifs instead of buying a new one. Be brave and match contrasting colours as long as you have a base neutral colour or black in between.
Accessorise, accessorise, accessories
I have accumulated tons of accessories overtime, beads, necklaces, bracelets and the list goes on and I have never regretted it. Wearing some chunky beads with a t-shirt, pair of jeans and heels would upgrade your look.
Now embellished collars, bib necklaces and head pieces are sooo in. Replace your chunky beads with a bejeweled bib necklace for an opulent look or go more SJP with a lovely head piece with veiling on your summer dress and 4inch stilettos for that effortless 'WOW' factor. Absolutely fabulous i say. Try it today. Remember to have nicely polished toe nails.

Embellish Me - NEWS
For Those of us that live in Nigeria, heas pieces and accessories by EMBELLISH ME have been used on models in many photo shoots for various magazine. The most recent ones are TW magazine August 2010 and Complete Fashion in September 2010.
Ones to look forward to are Glam and Essence February 2011 and TW Magazine again in March 2011 - the Mad Hatter Collection. I am so excited about this particular one.
I am working on many bridal and custom-made jobs at the moment and would post the pictures after the pieces have been used by the owners.... Also working with ID on the Street of Primetime Africa to embellish his 20 models on his upcoming TV production.
Still working on getting EMBELLISH ME in as many magazines out there so possible and I would keep you posted.

Its a Season of Love
Happy Valentines Day!!!
Its indeed the month of love and a season with a reason.
In Lagos, Nigeria where i am currently, all the restaurants and bars are fulled booked, shops car parks filled to capacity and even causing traffic with the last minute lovers shopping and love is seriously in the air....I love it.
But please as you express love to your loved ones today please remember those that are less fortunate, the motherless children and the destitute on the street. They also need to be loved. So in your own little way, show some love today. Lets not limit it to 14th February but make it a little act of kindness to someone everyday.
